Early Life and EducationBorn in Parli, Beed district, Maharashtra, Pankaja comes from a deeply rooted political family. She is the niece of the late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and a cousin to NCP leader Dhananjay Munde. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a postgraduate degree in Management (MBA). She is married to doctor-turned-industrialist Amit Palwe, and they have a son, Aryaman.Political CareerEarly Roles: Pankaja entered politics by taking over the grassroots and organizational legacy of her father following his sudden death in a 2014 road accident. Prior to her legislative career, she worked extensively with NGOs.Legislative and Ministerial Roles: She served two consecutive terms as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Parli constituency from 2009 to 2019. During the first Devendra Fadnavis government, she held prominent portfolios including Rural Development, Women, and Child Welfare.National and State Roles: She was appointed as the National Secretary of the BJP. After electoral setbacks in the 2019 assembly elections, she shifted her role to the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC).
