His leadership transformed the issue of BC representation into a statewide movement.
Sri Satya Vasamsetty has also been one of the strongest voices of the Settibalija community. In 2006, he played a key role in organizing the Settibalija Shankharavam – Yanam, a gathering that witnessed participation from nearly one lakh Settibalija BC(B) community members, making it one of the largest community mobilization efforts in the region. He also organized community conferences, Karthika Vanabhojanalu, social awareness programs, and youth empowerment initiatives — thousands of community members benefited from these efforts.
Before joining Telugu Desam Party, Sri Satya Vasamsetty was one of the principal organizers and supporters of the Praja Rajyam Party movement, actively promoting the vision of social justice championed by Dr. Chiranjeevi. As a key organizer and sponsor, he conducted meetings in India, USA, and Canada, organized Pravasa Vaaradhi (SPARC) programs, mobilized BC, SC, and ST communities, sponsored major public meetings, and coordinated large-scale rallies — helping strengthen grassroots support for the movement.
In 2009, Sri Satya Vasamsetty joined the Telugu Desam Party and immediately emerged as a dynamic grassroots leader.
Historic 2009 Kakinada Parliamentary Election: He contested the Kakinada Lok Sabha election as a TDP candidate. Despite joining the party only a few months earlier, he conducted aggressive campaigning, mobilized BC communities, earned support across caste and party lines, and secured approximately 2.60 lakh votes. His candidature was historic because he became one of the first BC Settibalija leaders to receive a Lok Sabha ticket from a major political party in East Godavari's history. Though he narrowly lost the election, his performance earned widespread respect throughout Andhra Pradesh.
Leadership as Parliamentary In-Charge (2009–2013): He served as TDP Kakinada Parliamentary Constituency In-Charge. During this period, he organized meetings and protests, led party campaigns, conducted dharnas and awareness programs, coordinated local body elections, worked closely with party cadres, and participated in the Samikyandhra Movement. He visited all 21 Assembly constituencies of the erstwhile East Godavari district and strengthened the party organization at every level.
State General Secretary — BC Federation: Recognizing his dedication and organizational abilities, Telugu Desam Party appointed him State General Secretary of the BC Federation. In this role, he worked closely with BC Federation President Sri Kollu Ravindra. His major contributions include conducting statewide BC meetings, creating caste-wise empowerment committees, identifying grassroots leadership, coordinating statewide organizational activities, conducting BC awareness campaigns, and working as election observer and coordinator. His strategic efforts significantly strengthened BC participation in the party structure.
A Respected Observer and Organizer: Over the years, Sri Satya Vasamsetty served as Observer for Kuppam Municipal Elections, Observer for Madugula Assembly Constituency, Zone-II Coordinator for BC Meetings, and Coordinator for statewide BC campaigns.
