Legendary Telugu comedian Relangi Venkatramaiah belonged to the Shetti Balija community, a prominent social group in the Coastal Andhra region. [1]

Born in 1910 in Ravulapalem, East Godavari district, he began his career as a Harikatha performer before rising to become one of the most celebrated and highest-paid comedic actors in early Telugu cinema. He was honored with the Padma Shri in 1970 for his contributions to the film industry.
